Mental Health Technician

General Responsibilities:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) works under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and is critical to the delivery of the complete spectrum of inpatient treatment. The MHT has a significant role in direct patient care and is a principle element in providing a safe and therapeutic environment. Positions are currently available at both River Park Hospital and Barboursville School. Please specify your preference when applying.

Position Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Licensure: None required. Current certification in CPR. (CPR certification is provided during scheduled new employee orientation classes.)

Training: Age and population specific on-the-job training provided.

 

Registered Nurse

General Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse is competent in providing safe, effective care based on nursing process in the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating of patient care corresponding documentation. The RN must coordinate all components of psychiatric care to include patient safety, medication administration, and all other areas of psychiatric nursing. The RN supervises all unit staff and provides leadership and direction to the unit/shift.

Position Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Licensure: Requires a valid RN license for the state of West Virginia. Current certification in CPR. (CPR certification is provided during scheduled new employee orientation classes.)

Experience: Prefer experience as an RN for one year with six months in mental health setting.

Training: Age and population specific on-the-job training provided.

 

Licensed Practical Nurse

General Responsibilities:

The Licensed practical Nurse is competent in providing safe, effective care based on nursing process. LPNs will fulfill responsibilities associated with Mental Health Technicians and nursing care functions for which the LPN is licensed to perform in the state of West Virginia.

Position Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or GED. Graduate from an LPN program.

Licensure: Requires a valid LPN license for the state of West Virginia. Current certification in CPR. (CPR certification is provided during scheduled new employee orientation classes.)

Experience: Prefer experience as an LPN for one year with six months in mental health or med/surge hospital setting.

Training: Age and population specific on-the-job training provided.

 

Therapist

 

Position Summary:  Responsible for providing services by completing psycho-social assessments, updates, or transfer notes with adult, geriatric, adolescent and child patients.  Responsible for individual, group, and family therapy including discharge planning.  Acts as a liaison with other treatment resources.

 

Position Requirements:  West Virginia license in human services field or under supervision.  Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.  Minimum of one year clinical experience.  Addiction certification preferred.

 

 

Nurse Practitioner

 

Position Summary:  Provide direct patient care as prescribed by the physician. Responsible for directing the implementation of behavior management programs, performing physical exams on new admissions or authenticate previous medical history as necessary, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating illnesses and injuries occurring in patients within scope of practice, treatment and discharge planning, and will have limited on-call responsibilities.

 

Position Requirements:  Valid WV License.  Must have a minimum of one year experience in a clinical setting and preferably one year of psychiatric experience with adults and/or geriatrics. Candidates must also be licensed in the State of West Virginia.
